Raptors Trade Ideas Thread - Winter Edition

I like the idea especially getting Millsap.

We'd also shed about 7 million at season's end with the Diop expiring contract which could aid in helping to resign him. And amnesty is still available (Kleiza or Amir) too if that helps BC's situation at all in bringing him back. Worst comes to worst, he leaves and the team has some off-season money to spend.

Bargs and Lowry

would give us:

Caldy/Brooks
Demar/Ross
Pietrus/AA/Kleiza
Cousins/Ed
Val/Amir

I likey ... Cousins and Val can be a deadly front court for years to come

Mo Williams is out indefinitely for Utah, who are fighting for a playoff spot.

Might be an opening for a Calderon trade there.

Random idea because I bored:

Toronto Trades: Calderon, Bargnani, Lucas
Toronto Gets: Diop (7 million expiring), Millsap, Sessions

Charlotte Trades: Diop, Sessions
Charlotte Gets: Bargnani, Lucas

Utah Trades: Millsap
Utah Gets: Calderon

With Mo Williams' injury, and Millsap and Jefferson both expiring at years end, it seems to make sense for them. The Kanter/Favors duo behind them means one of Millsap or Jefferson probably won't be brought back anyways, and Calderon is a solid fix for them at PG for the short-term.

Raptor's move on from Bargnani and have another PF to carry the load in the load in the paint and provide a veteran presence. Whether or not he resigns would be in the air, but it is a nice option to have his rights. Session's replaces Calderon's production at backup PG. Diop helps give us off-season flexibility with his expiring deal.

Charlotte takes a flyer on Bargnani. They have MKG, Walker, Biyombo and Gerald Henderson in a nice young core. Bargnani has the potential to help that core offensively. Charlotte gives up a nice expiring and a reliable backup in Sessions, but they also get Lucas back to fill the backup PG void. Overall it is a pretty low risk move for them at this point.

Charlotte Bobcats have Mullens, why would they want Bargnani?

he is not getting along with his coach sure, but id take a chance on him since we have a players coach and a decent core to surround him with.

he can win in toronto a pass first pg in calderon could make him happy. plus in a weeker easter conference with cousins we could be as good as 4th if the team clicks.

but this is a risk worth taking imo. cousins is still young and has time to mature and could be the 2nd or 3rd best C in the league in a year or two.

plus in this deal we move lowry who is criticized for being too selfish and bargs who hasnt improved on anything since being in the league and has lost respect from the fans.

If the only options on the market are guys like Okafor, I would rather insert him back into the starting lineup.

what's your problem with Okafor? he's had a better career to this point than Bargnani has?
