I think raptors should trade for Corey maggette
I can't believe I just saw like 3 people say that we'd deserve 2 unprotected 1st round picks from a team that has the best shot at #1..... for Caldy and Bargs. Really. How about a good player and an expiring and a second. Let's be a slight bit realistic.

December 15th is just around the corner, which means that a lot of trade restrictions will be lifted from FAs that signed over the summer.
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/...ade-candidatesThe Toronto Raptors, All of Them
Perhaps the league's biggest disappointment, the 4-18 Raptors have bigger deals to consider than any involving their December 15 crew; the whole NBA knows the Andrea Bargnani/Jose Calderon package is an almost perfect salary fit for Gasol, though the Lakers' front office has presumably watched Bargnani shoot bricks and play some of the worst help defense in the league.
Saturday's deadline frees up (among other Dinos) John Lucas III, a shoot-first backup point guard who can barely get minutes in Toronto, and Landry Fields, a wildly overpaid wing who once again shot miserably this season before undergoing elbow surgery. The handcuffs also come off Alan Anderson and Aaron Gray, but none of these guys moves the needle much. The Raptors, as of now, would be capped out this summer and could have only limited flexibility — something like $8 million to $10 million in space — in the summer of 2014 if Bargnani is still around, so they have some incentive to cut salary.
This team is an absolute mess
We have no star, our whole roster is filled with role players under contract for the next few years.
We only have 1 big expiring in Calderon but Demar's contract extension kicks in next season, so we basically have no cap flexibility to improve the team.
BC traded our draft pick for an injury prone player who likely won't resign (Not sure we would want to at this point)
Yep, this teams going to suck for at least the next 3-5 years.
There is no simple way out of this, add into the fact that Ed Davis has been thrown under the bus on this team for so long upping the likelihood that he bolts after his rookie-scale is up.
The only real tangible assets we have moving forward at this point in time are Valanciunas, Calderon, Ross, Ed Davis & Lowry.
Team is a mess. I said i'll judge after 20 games, and yeah they suck but the season is not over yet and im not going to surrender just yet especially when things could change for the better before trade deadline and/or after the All Star game
Before Lowry got injured, he was a star. Albeit his numbers would have dropped but he will still have been playing great. Demar is playing a lot better than people have expected and he could still get better. They are not using him in the post as much and our offense is really hurting
Now this part is not just for you TMath, but to everyone who has been doing nothing but point fingers
Yeah BC traded our pick, but before the season started everyone including yourself had Lowry pegged in the top 10 for PGs. Would he be so injure prone if he didn't try and rampage through the paint all the time? Getting knocked on his bum? Highly doubt it, its not like he jumps and lands and somehow he has an ankle injury, all his injuries have been "tough man" injuries, stuff that is going to happen when you fight in the paint and you are just a PG. I can't blame him for trying either especially in a losing season.
and when we acquired lowry for a protected pick, everyone was ecstatic. That is including you. Now that things turn for the worst, we are going to blame BC? Everyone thought that a pick between 6-10 would be fair value for Lowry, and if we keep going like this, we would probably end up in that range. I can't blame BC for making this trade that made PERFECT SENSE at the time.
Lowry is still under contract for one more season after this. Who knows who will be on this roster next season, especially with pending Bargnani + Calderon trades in the air
It is always easy to pass judgement in hindsight, but the truth is we need an offensive coordinator and Casey to focus just on the defense and get back to the basics. If we keep losing at this pace, we're going to have a Top 3 pick ANYWAYS
wizards fan here. really love barg and jose. what kind of deal wpuld u guys want if we were in trade talk? with just those two...no other players
If BC is really content with keeping Bargnani, then they need to bench him and play with guys he has good chemistry with like Calderon and Amir Johnson
Davis has convinced me now that he deserves to start, by playing good with the limited minutes Casey gives him. The only thing about Ed Davis is that he really needs to go up strong and finish, but that is my only problem and that wil come with a bit more added strength
