    Great performance: Michael's 63 or Kobe's 81?

What do you think is a better game?

Kobe's 81 against the sub .500 Raptors in the regular season or MJ's 63 against the Celtics in the Garden? The most points ever scored in the playoffs before or since? Some say that Celtics team was the greatest in NBA history. We're going over this again... really?

Jordan's 63 easily. Although I might take the flu game over either one.

Kobe, regardless of who he played, he played with the Charlotte Bobcats in a Laker uniiform disguise

Am I the only one who would not even entertain this as a serious question?

But because I'm a sucker - to give it its due, let's look at the opposing lineup. The 14-27 (at the time) Toronto Raptors, parading the dynamite starting lineup of:

    Matt Bonner
    Morris Peterson
    Chris Bosh
    Mike James
    Jalen Rose (the retiring version)

The playoff game MJ pulled it off was against the soon to be champion and arguably GOAT Team 86 Boston Celtics comprised of:

    Peak Larry Bird
    Peak Robert Parish
    Peak Kevin McHale
    Nearing prime Danny Ainge
    Prime Dennis Johnson

And some guy named Bill Walton had a double double off the bench.

    Stop, just stop.

Side stat, the Raptors were 29 of 30 in defensive rating. The Celtics were #1 and considered one of the greater defensive teams in NBA history. They lost 18 games that season, including their championship run.

Jordan, by a good distance. Bryant's best offensive performance in the playoffs was probably vs Denver in '08, Game 2, and his best playoff performance against a good defensive team was Spurs in 01, Game 1.

Jordan, but because it was the Playoffs.

I think that the argument about Kobe doing it against the Raptors in silly - because "if it was against a bad team like the Raptors" why can't anyone else do it?

No one else capable of doing it (the list is small) is as arrogant and selfish as Kobe.
