I'm pretty sure the Yankees definition of success is winning the world series every year. They and most fans consider anything else a failure.

I personally like the new approach the team is taking.

I'm tired of seeing over paid players past there prime killing this team.

If that is their definition of success, then its about to get a **** ton worse because it will take 7-8 years of good drafting and horrible w/l % to become the Rays.

Some peoplke dont understand this. They seem to think the Yankees can actually patch together a team and win during those 8 years and hope some how that our farm system improves.

    Well

    1. Only a dumb *** drives there; you can take the train, a lot more convenient.

    2. Everyone acts like it's only expensive at Yankees stadium. All ball parks are expensive, it's called cost of living, NY is one of the more expensive area's for everything.

    3. Try parking anywhere in NYC and it's expensive as hell.

    4. And also, the parking lot is run by an outside company, not the Yankees.

Its completely fine to cut payroll IMO if the team had a plan, made some moves to set them up for it over the years, had kids ready or just had some sensible idea of how to do it. The Yankees obviously don't.

Who said it's going to take 8 years? We have talent that's two years away. If they pan out.

Also who says the Yankees won't spend again. Everyone is complaining about pure speculation about what the Yankees will do after 2014.
