Totally agree. Its crazy. The Dodgers are the Yanks of old with excessive spending.

Yankee fans cannot be hypocritical.....we had our day in the sun and now it is their turn.

Won't the Dodgers have to be under 189m at some point as well? I'm a little fuzzy on the details of the new CBA, I just see it as pertaining only to the Yankees. Will this affect the Dodgers in any way?

You left out Either at 17 million. its insane and that kind of money never a good idea as he not a true ace. Felix Hernedez or Valender is one thing but he not in there league. Crawford salary will be higher then his homerun total every season until he is done. I just don't think the Dodgers are spending there money good at all.

They already ave their ace in Kershaw....Greinke is just a #2 and would be an ace for about 25 other clubs, quit knocking him, he is that good, best command in baseball.

What is Cashman waiting for? Not signing a catcher or right fielder before you signed Pettitte and Mo just doesn't make sense....now there's talk of trading Granderson then A-Rod out til mid season (maybe longer) and the Captain...is he for sure ready by spring training?? Am I missing something here? If the season starts today....this is what the lineup looks like:

1) Jeter-SS- will he even be ready?
2) Ichiro-RF- he's not even signed yet!
3) Teixeria- 1st
4) Cano- 2nd
5) 3rd base- TBD? What? Who?
6) Granderson- CF...if he's trade bait who's replacing 40+ HR's?
7) DH.....really??
8) C- guess the umpires are catching pitches!
9) Gardner- LF

If Ichy is not signed yet why bother to put him in? Leave it a hole to show bad the current offense is....

I agree the team needs to focus more on contact and high BA guys. However you have to have a mix between power and contact which this team doesnt really have now.

It's not about average, it's about timely hitting, of which Gardner hasn't done a ton of. Look at the teams performance as a whole as apposed to just their top players. Giants won it with the worst homerun total and the fifth best average, but their avg was only 04% pts better than the Yanks. The rest of the teams on that list are slugging ball clubs except for maybe St. Louis. Don't underestimate power.

I am not sold on Greinke, especially for the money he just got. Hell, he wasnt even the ace on the Angels staff. Now he has the pressure to perform with that money. He will be found in a closet hugging his teddy bear in the fetal position when he gets rocked... Lucky he is in the NL...
