Good. Hopefully they have taken on enough payroll to not consider a crazy 8 year deal for Cano next offseason.

Greinke is a good pickup. He's a good pitcher and will be a fixture for them in the years to come.

Also means Texas likely keeps Hamilton.

Maybe Hal gives in and signs Josh and gives Cano an extension....

As of now, $234 Mil. Rumor has it they want Anibal Sanchez too. It should be above $250 Mil by Opening Day.

Didn't the team take a loan too?

They will soon learn that buying doesn't always win you championships

    See: Yankees. 2009. That's it.

    Good luck dodgers.

NL West is a monster: Giants won the WS, again; the Dodgers have doubled their payroll in a year; Arizona and San Diego improving.

@RC- whatever loan they took they probably paid back. They have absolutely zero financial issues right now. Hey got a billion dollar tv deal. They're going to generate a lot of revenue too. They have nothing to worry about but aging player making $20+ mil a season. That's going to suck.

Oh and now the dodgers have done something that even the yankees have never done.

With Greinke/A-gon/Crawford/Kemp the dodgers have 4 players with an AAV of 20 million or more.

Also every one of there starting pitchers are making 5 million or more per year. All 6 of them.

    Beckett/Kershaw/Billingsley/Lilly/Capuano/Harang

And they still want Anibal, who's looking for 5 year/90 Mil dollar deal.

So now that would be 7 starters. All making a boat load of money.

Oh and Greinke has a higher AAV then CC Sabathia.

    24.5 too CC 24.4

CC deal is bigger, as longer..but Greinke is making more per year.

He is the highest paid RHP, Ever.

Aren't the Dodgers still trying to get that asian pitcher? They're going to be loaded and ready to go. Considering LA is a bandwagon town it is smart to build up that star power to guarantee seats and have success.

Greinke got a $12M signing bonus. Meaning, they just gave him a $12M check just to sign the contract they offered him.

    Cool.
