I figured this would be the case when we missed out on Chavez. Not a horrible signing, and if it was his wrist that was the problem... well, its better than seeing Valbuena everyday.

There wasn't much out there after Youkilis, Chavez and Keppinger so might as well give Stewart another chance. He did show some good defense and flashes of power last year. A good offseason working hard and getting healthy and he could be a breakout candidate next year

I agree he has some pop, takes some walks and has solid glove at third. If he can hit 240 with 18-20 HR he will be ok. Given the market and lack of quality 3rd basemen available. Trying Stewart again to see if he can get healthy and give us better results is worth a shot I guess. I just wish we had more of a sure thing then him. But it's either this or trying to move someone like Alex Gonzalez or Kelly Johnson to third or heck maybe even Clevenger.
