Lets assume Arod is toast for the year, which opens up the DH for a lot of at bats.
Raul is the fan fave, of course.
Carlos Lee/ Carlos Pena platoon would add some lost pop from our recent departures.
Thoughts?

Arod needs to be toast for the year. No ifs ands or buts. He shouldn't play in 2013.
The Yankees need to escape this contract and now is the perfect time.
Let him spend the entire season on the DL, recover from his surgery properly, and go elsewhere.
The Yankees will receive 100% of the money owed to Arod back and can finally move on.
The Yankees could potentially be covered by insurance for at least 70 and up to 100 percent of his contract if he’s injured and can’t play. There are two major catches here. The first is that A-Rod would have to sit out all of this season for the Yankees to collect any money. The other is that even if the Yankees were to collect even the full $114 million he’s owed that money would still count against the luxury tax. -BronxBaseballDaily

Leo uuuuurrrrr making too many threads!! Combine them!!!!![]()
Arod out a full year with the Yankees collecting is amazing anyway you slice it.
According to Rosenthal's source, the Yanks are insured for more than 70% of A-Rod's salary. Wallace Matthews of ESPNNewYork.com hears that the Yanks could even recoup at least 75% and up to 100% of the money remaining on Rodriguez's deal, but the third baseman would have to be disabled for a full season before the team could begin collecting on the policy.

Nobody has signed Giambi yet LOL
Seriously,
power is one thing, but it would be nice to have a consistent hitter for once. Not a streak hitter----Swisher, Tex, Grandy, Arod, Cano. How about someone cluctch and consistent? Any ideas?

Carlos Lee would be a great addition. He can hit for decent average and we need a guy who can drive in runs without necessarily going yard.
I'd love Giambi on the bench.
They wanted Carlos lee last year but he declined.
Hideki!

Older players like Giambi, Lee, and Ibanez do not sound very appealing to me.
Raul does not need to be full time DH. Just not the player he is anymore.
Cory Hart could be a trade target for a DH/1B/OF spot.
