Basically if there's an existing thread that fits the topic, just post there. But honestly, the worst case is that YC or I will merge a thread into an existing one if we feel it's redundant. No big deal.

BTW, welcome. Nice to seem some new posters.

we're getting swarmed with newbs lately.

I would also wait to see if the Nationals resign LaRoche and make a play for Morse to be the DH/outfielder

Sizemore is a BUM! The only person that I wouldn't mind having that was mentioned in this thread is Morse. Everybody else that was mentioned should be out of baseball and become an analyst. Carlos Lee would have been ok a few years ago but he's toast as well. The one person that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is Alfonso Soriano. We could get him for $5 mil per year for the next two years since the Cubs are willing to eat most of his contract. He'll be our DH and a fourth outfielder (LF) and it gives us the right handed pop we need.

Sizemore is having (another) knee surgery. He's out until at least mid-season.

Man, sucks seeing someone go through what Sizemore has/is. All the potential and talent in the world, derailed constantly by injuries.

Thank you Mo! We will forever be grateful for your service to our team not only as a player, but as a person. A living legend. You will forever be in our hearts, and forever be the greatest of all time. Now go get them one last time, Sandman!

Since we have Gardner, Granderson and Ichiro and are interested in signing Ibanez. We are absolutely set from the left side (for 80 games with LH batters) . From the right side we have Jeter (10 games) with Nunez playing short, Tex (10 games) with Youk at 1B and Nix at 3B, (assuming he's back for about 40 games) A-Rod (20 games) with Youk at 3B, Youk (20 games with A-Rod at 3B), Nunez and Nix (another 10 games each) = 80 games for RH batters. Throw in a Hairston to platoon with Ichiro and spell the other OF's and we have more than enough to get by.

The real key is the rotation not the lineup. Cashman will get the roster filled but the rotation must stay virtually healthy all season and to be consistently good. The current Lineup will score.....
