Again, the Rangers could slide back into it. If they indeed get Greinke, they're likely out on Hamilton/Bourn. And jUpton is not a given at this point.

But I wonder...most teams have closed their CF/OF-need. Where the hell does Bourn end up? I thought Philladelphia, but they traded for Revere. He's out of Baltimore's price range...maybe Seattle if we steal Hamilton.

The Reds could make a play for Bourne. I think that Baltimore may also take a shot at him if his price falls because Jones could play any OF position, and they have no "I have to play every day" type of OF besides Jones. That's pure speculation though. The Mets could use a CF too but Bourne's price may be steep. Cleveland is another team id watch for there especially if they trade away Choo or Cabrera.

I would probably take that. As I've said before, I don't think Ellsbury's value outside of this forum is that high. If you can get a guy like Holland, who is signed to a pretty team friendly extension, plus prospects, I think we have to take it.

If it was a bigger package and we got Olt, sure. But id rather stick with Ells and take a chance at him having a big first half then trade him now for Holland. Holland's SABR stats dont give me any reason to believe he'll ever have a season much better than 2011. He's a #3 maybe, but that's it. Id rather get a bigger upside guy like Stephenson.

Yes, we better take that deal. We could even add Salty...

I was thinking Holland + (top) spec. Buckel fits the bill, he's top 100.

yeah when i asked in the trade thread awhile back they didn't think ellsbury would fetch much, mainly because he only has 1 year left, wants a big contract, and has been injured often
    Lester to the Cubs??

Hes a backend SP/pen guy. Id rather throw in Salty and a couple specs and get someone like Olt too. I know that would give us a logjam in the IF but it would be a good problem to have. And it would give us two young talented 3B, something Miami and Arizona could definitely use.

Yeah what i would assume is that either one of WMB/Olt gets dealt or they trade Lavarnway and Salty. I like Olt because he walks enough to take pressure off of his batting average, and his power is there regardless. Could be a very good power hitter if he keeps his Ks in check.

Plus he went to UConn so thats my guy.

Olt K's so much. He could be some form of Adam Dunn style offense.

But this thread is about signing Uehara, not Ellsbury discussion. Should probably just make an Ellsbury trade thread.

I think you have to give him a better hit tool than Dunn. His swing plane alone leads me to think he'd have a bit easier time making solid contact on a more consistent basis. I don't see Olt as a 40 HR guy either though, so theres a trade off.
