The Yankees will be just fine. People need to stop overreacting.

    Uhm....wait...

On Thursday, people within the Yankees organization confirmed that this was in fact true: Cashman arrived in Nashville unable to make offers to players, and without that power, targets like Jeff Keppinger and Eric Chavez took deals elsewhere.

The Yankee general manager went back to ownership and made his case, and Cashman was allowed to move forward with offers the Yankees made a one-year, $12 million offer to third baseman Kevin Youkilis Thursday morning.

This is ridiculous. What exactly are the Steinbrenners trying to accomplish here? Yankees made revenue of $850M last season. Lol

or it can be a ploy to force fans to whine more pushing the yankees to spend more so their free ganets can use them as leverage as they used to do in the past. yeah but lets go with always believe everything you read

They're worried not having money in their own pockets.

who cares about revenue, they have to limit spending to reach 189 and top talent isnt going to take 1 year deals, so we have to wait

Well, is it coincidence he has not made 1 offer at the winter meetings to any player until this morning?

I understand that, but to not be able to match offers like $3M for 1 year or $12M for 3 years like Chavez and Keppinger is ridiculous. Obviously, there is truth to the article.

They are attempting to maximize profits before they sell the team. Anyone that thinks this team is not going to be sold within the next 5 years is fooling themselves.
