Your comment implied that Peralta and Rondon are in similar situations which is completely untrue. But thanks for the quality input.

He had 19 starts in AAA though, so I think he has a better than normal chance of being able to stick. We'll see though. I actually like the pick, if he has put the arm troubles behind him for good.

The thing to like about Rondon for be besides velocity is that I keep saying him praised for his fastball command. Fastball command might be a big deal for a pitcher.

Hard to lose with this one, really.

Bad year in the pen - Back to the Tribe

Good year in the pen - Extendable asset

Great year in the pen - Probably gets a crack at the rotation in 2014

"If we think we’re going to go out in a seek and destroy mission, this team will just laugh at you. They’ve had people running at them for five years; they know how to deal with it. Going out and thinking we’re going to intimidate the Chicago Blackhawks is nuts. They’ve seen all of that before and they just play right through it.

Well the loss is if Peralta ends up sticking with the D-Backs and is better than Rondon.

Not protecting Peralta is still the right choice since he was a pretty surprising choice and I think the DBacks will give him back if he's not producing early on in the season. Kevin Towers loves bullpens.

Yeah, good stuff and good command. There is a lot to like. I wonder what his ground ball percentages have been?
