i know (about yanks offer). hoping that situation is not as appealing to him. maybe he doesn't want to go somewhere where he could lose his position mid-season. tired of moving around. maybe a 2 year deal at a lower number with assurances that the position is his gets it done.

Sad. He'd have been a great fit. I could give 2 ***** if he plays a terrible 3B. Seems a smart guy like him would look at his options and see Philly as the clearly better situation. But, you know, Mike Hampton chose COLORADO to go pitch in because of the school system (oh, and the $75M... afterthought).

I love how people over-react to tweets, like they are golden words spoken from Jesus himself.... Everyone should know by now that until every single little detail of a trade/FA Signing is done, is when we can finally rejoice. Whose to say some player doesn't even pass his physical once he arrives.
