Everybody wrote Jeter off after 2010 too..Young has been one of the most consistent hitters in the American league during his 12 year career...Once he has a set position again I think he will go back to normal.

I'm not entirely convinced his hitting ability is as bad as his numbers from last season.

I'd say he's a -10 fielder and the position adjustment at 3B is roughly -5. The value of just being on the field 150 games is roughly +20 runs. Last season, his bat was -14 runs.

So to answer your question, no.

Going forward, I expect him to be average at the plate, which bumps him up to around 1.5 wins.

It's a good, low cost, stopgap year option. Unless they are giving up a ton for him, this would be a solid move

All I hear is low cost, cheap, etc...maybe we need to actually sign someone who costs a little bit more to get the job done. Cheap is great but if the players arent elevating your team then its pointless.
