You guys might have talked about this already, but it sounds like one of the hold ups in the Greinke contract is our reluctance to hand out the no-trade clause. I just don't get why this matters to a player. If i'm making 150+ million over just 6 years...you can go ahead and send me wherever you want....i'm rich!

True, but would you want to go from beautiful sunny L.A to say Minnesota or Canada... With out any say.

Most players make there residence where they play and if your Mark Buerhle you move to Canada and have to give your dogs away

As an athlete you do pay state taxes in any state you play a game. So not only does Matt Kemp pay state taxes in California, he also pays taxes on money from games in states of other teams the Dodgers play. Granted this is not on his entire salary, but a portion.

he only pays the states where he plays enough games in, so he pays taxes in Arizona and Colorado, but if we play 3 games in Boston I don't think he has to pay state taxes in Massachusetts
