it depends on what you mean by "breakout" because i think a guy like reuben tejada is really going to have a great year but wont get the media attention (he isnt flashy and wont hit a ton of homers)

but ike davis i could see mashing 35-40 homers this year

also ian desmond is a beast should get a lot more attention this year

My money is on Trout. 83 RBI's is weaksauce. I say he puts it all together and becomes that good all around hitter.

Also Ackley.

RBI don't tell you anything, but let's ignore his .963 OPS. He was the best player in baseball and already is a good all around hitter. He broke out last season.

Between Montero, Ackley and Smoak... Two of the three will play great. Shorter fence will go along way with their confidence.

I actually do think that two of those guys will hit. It's very pessimistic right now, but all of those guys are still interesting enough (even Smoak to an extent).

Matt Wieters will overall be the best catcher in baseball in 2013.

Matt Moore will recieve a few Cy Young votes and outperform David Price

Wil Middlebrooks will hit 30 homers

Brett Lawrie will be a top 5 overall 3B

Eric Hosmer becomes a top 5 1B

Carlos Santana hits 35 homers

Jemile Weeks steals 40 bases and becomes a top 6 option at 2B

Jesus Montero hits 25 homers and 35 doubles


Look out for Bundy and Profar to produce immediately when they are called up.

The names that come to mind for me:

Bryce Harper - 40 HR minimum in 2013. He could win the NL MVP.

Jean Segura - I think Milwaukee will let him run, he's got good on-base instincts. I can see .280 with 10-12 HR and 35+ SB.

Will Middlebrooks - He'll join the great young 3B ranks along side Longoria, Zimmerman, etc.

Mark Rogers - If he can secure the 5th spot in Milwaukee people will realize how good this kid can be. Brandon Morrow upside, IMO.

Tony Cingrani - Again, if he makes the Cincy rotation, I think the sky is the limit. He's got dynamic stuff.

I can't agree with 40 homers, 30 yes, but that seems like a lot.
