I like how Wrench separated the Ireland moves and Parcell moves. But it should also be noted that Soliai and Wake were extended under Ireland and that Henne and Langford were allowed to walk away. Ronnie and Ricky were also allowed to walk in which Ireland chose to compensate for by acquiring Bush and drafting Thomas. Matt Moore was brought in as well.

Soliai, 6-4, 355, is better at taking up blockers in the run game than getting a pass rush — he didn’t have a single sack in 2011 — but the Dolphins didn’t keep him to be a specialist in the lesser part of modern offenses. After making $12.5 million as the Dolphins franchise player in 2011, Soliai re-signed a two-year deal worth $8.15 million in base salary rather than truly explore free agency.

“I left it all up to my agent [David Canter],” Soliai said. “I took the offseason to spend time with my family. I really didn’t get to think about it until my agent gave me a call to tell me who wanted to talk to me. I just wanted to have fun with my family.

“I wanted to stay,” he continued. “That’s my main goal was to stay here. I started here. I started slow. I like how I’m going right now, I’m going well.”

most of the players Wrench is claiming to be BP picks arent BP picks but Ireland picks. their is no doubt that Ireland has been better for this team than Parcells. even in the 2 yrs he is claiming Ireland got players Ireland has done better. i dont see a franchise QB in BP's list not to mention Ireland's list has 2 playmakers in it to BPs one based on the lists given and Ireland has retained Wake and Soliai

Jeff Ireland re-signed Solia. And of course he wanted to stay here. Who re-signs somewhere they don't want to stay.

doesnt matter if he wanted to stay Ireland still retained him. Ireland also has us set up for a huge 2013 offseason

I remember Soliai taking the home team discount for family reasons after all the hype of him being a high-sought after FA.

Wake was also extended a year early. He could have played out this year making less than $1 mil or accept the offer and extension that Ireland gave him.

We kept two of our best players for "fair" deals that could have otherwise been inflated with other teams getting involved and bidding for their services. Imagine if Wake was hitting FA this year like he would have been if not offered the extension a year ago.

I like to give credit when it is due and criticize when it is justified. Ireland's 2011 draft does not look good at all outside of Pouncey. There's still a sliver of hope that Thomas and Clay will actually do something. Ireland has bought himself another year so we will see how they perform.
