This is a great matchup for Stanford on-paper, but I think it could be a pretty good game. Wisconsin's strengths play into Stanford's strengths, and Stanford has gotten much better over the course of the season. I don't think Stanford blows them out since they aren't that type of team, but they should control the game. Neither of these teams will be fazed by the big stage since both teams will now have played 3 straight BCS games, so that could lead to a very good game. I also have a lot of respect for Barry Alvarez as a head coach, and I'm sure the Badgers will be inspired to go out and get Barry his 4th Rose Bowl.

I just can't pick Wisconsin (even to cover) because of the QB situation. Kevin Hogan is the difference in the game.

Ill go Stanford here because of Hogan. You can argue Wisconsin has lost close games but if they were that good they would avoid those.

I have to go homer and pick the Badgers. I think these two teams matchup real well against each other. You cant sleep on the Badgers defense either. They actually give up less yardage than Stanford. I think the true difference maker is going to be Alvarez. He's going to try and make this team prove something that Bielema couldnt. Win a Rose Bowl.

The Rose Bowl presented by Vizio: Wisconsin Badgers vs. #6 Stanford Cardinal

These kids are going to be so motivated to play for Alvarez and to shove it in Bielema's face. It's going to be a very good game, can't wait

Stanford should take this one. Wisconsin fast becoming the Buffalo Bills of the early 90's
Some WR's are divas. Then there's new Saints WR Kenny Stills

I think Stanford wins big here. Phillips vs. Stanford D? No chance.

I'm really interested to see if Alvarez has some coaching rust to get off him if there is such a thing.

I really like what Alvarez has done in the first half. He didn't panic when they fell behind by 2 TDs, and they stuck to the plan. Wisconsin did get pretty lucky on some tipped balls, but the running game has been terrific. Stanford doesn't have great depth on defense, so it will be interesting to see if fatigue will set-in during the 2nd half. Wisconsin also needs to do a better job of not over-pursuing gaps to try and bring down Hogan. He's a smart and athletic player, and he will continue to extend plays if they don't have better gap integrity.

Am I the only one that really hasn't found this game that exciting?

    Apparently not.

I expected a physical game with power running, but not this snoozefest.
