Tony Romo donates $1 million to Urban Alternative

    http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowbo...an-alternative

IRVING, Texas – Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has pledged $1 million to Dr. Tony Evans’ Urban Alternative to help fund a national Church Adopt-A-School initiative.

“This is something I believe in and I feel lucky and blessed to be in a position to give back,” Romo said. “I’ve seen firsthand how the Urban Alternative has positively affected the lives of so many people. I’m honored to have a small part in this great cause.”

Dr. Evans, who runs the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, had served as the Cowboys’ chaplain for years and his son, Jonathan, took over this year. The program started in Dallas with the adoption of public schools by churches to provide mentoring and other services to children in need. The hope is to reach one million families across the country over the next three years.
I'm sure people are gonna hate on Romo for making a donation...

Romo, Andre, are we going to make a thread every time an athlete donates?

Good on him. Don't know why it needs to be made public though.

I'm currently excepting donations if any athletes would like to do a good deed.

It's his money, he can donate it how he sees fit.

Personally, I think separation of church and state is vital for our survival. I'm fine with the idea of helping out those in need but I don't want young minds indoctrinated (which seems inevitable in situations like this).

Well, I guess we'll never know.

Honestly this isn't about any team personally, I just don't understand the point of making these threads. Are we going to make a thread every time an athlete donates? No need to lash out fella

What does this have to do with separation of church and state?
