I like this signing. Takes some pressure off of scrabble. I think he was very succesful when we had the second lefty in arthur rhodes to go along with him.

7.5 over 3 years. 2.5 million per year.

For someone this effective vs lefties I will take it happily even at 3 years

yeah thats a good deal to me

I saw Burnett got 2 years and 9 million-ish and i was gonna be pissed that we didn't jump on that but i like Choate's deal a lot better once i finally saw those numbers too

I'd prefer 2 years but I can't be upset when he does the job like he does

From twitter cards fans seem to be satisfied and feel like it shoulda been 2 years but are generally happy with it for the price

Yeah Burnett got 2 yrs with an option. Would have liked to have done the same with Choate for the price we got him for. I figured by the 3rd year we would have someone to replace Choate.

I still feel like he extra 2 million would have been worth it to land Burnett

Burnett is better than Choate (who walks a few too many guys for my liking)

Burnett 4.5 for 2 years (and then an option for a 3rd year)
    Choate 2.25 for 3 years

I mean, it's double the money per year, but the production is def there for Burnett.

Burnett would get a 4.5m option for a third year. So assuming he gets all three years.
    It will be 4, 4, 4.5 for 12.5m (2yr 8m w/opt now being reported by LA Times).

So Burnett 2 w/opt=12.5m v. Choate 3 yr= 7.5m Saved 5 million potentially over the life of the contract.

And the difference between the two is probably the difference of a win over all three seasons.

Only something you care about if you are the Braves (i.e, missing the playoff by one game) one year.
