    4k year is not even legal...he would have to paid atleast minimum wage in that case...

    Im assuming 20k bonus total. Though what Elliott wrote makes no sense to me, guy is drunk 3/4th of the time anyways ever hear him on fan 590? Bumbling fool he is!

    Once your in the org everything is looked after for you. Living, food etc. Ya it will be a bit rough but, he'll eat, breath Blue Jays for the next 5 years. Which is what you want. It's not so much a signing as an adoption.

    My only concern is do they provide some basic schooling?

    Q. What do Minor League players earn?

    A. Minor League Baseball player contracts are handled by the Major League Baseball office. Here are the salary ranges:

    First contract season: $1,100/month maximum. After that, open to negotiation.
    Alien Salary Rates: Different for aliens on visas as mandated by INS (the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service).
    Meal Money: $25 per day at all levels, while on the road.
    Also poked around and found you are quite right about the teams paying for room and board as well as meals, so I guess the 20k is quite plausible. Kinda scary, but plausible.
