Blue Jays One Of Many Teams in the Mix For Dickey

Following up on yesterday's report that the Mets have spoken to at least eight teams about Dickey, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com lists the Royals, Orioles, Rangers, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Nationals as clubs in the mix.

I understand we're making a push now but I hope we don't land him.

I like him but no thanks. He's not going to do well in the AL East IMO.

The Mets are rebuilding, really doubt they want Buehrle. Besides, that would be a sideways move for us anyway.

I only want Dickey if AA can do some more butt raping if it's any of are big three prospects then no I'm also reluctant to give up on Gose or Rasmus to but realize it would have to be one of them. I just have a feeling deep in my loins that Ramus will go beast mode and make us all regret moving him. And my loins are never wrong.....ever.

I feel like we may have to give up too much for Dickey. I'd like to have him sure, but the price for him after winning a Cy Young is probably outrageous. Also the guy is 38.. I don't think I would put too much effort into getting him.

I'm pretty sure the Mets want young players that you know are "good".

this is the 38 year old knuckle baller correct? not sure if he can handle the al east, haveing said that hes going to free agency at the end of the year so he could be playing for his last pay check. maybe get him let him play the year and let him walk.

he could be a nice boost in our pitching staff this year, and he won't be blocking any of the young guys if they are ready next year

yes i agree, we can get him for a couple mid level specs than go for it, but we shouldnt be getting rid of our top guys a pitcher that if we are lucky is going to give us one good year

I get the feeling that it will cost more than I want the Jays to give up. I have no problem with Dickey though. He would definitely solidify the rotation.

I'd be worried about the premium of acquiring him and signing him. Literally came out of nowhere after developing the knuckle ball. I would bet he'll have a couple more years of sustained success, just not sure I want the Jays to be the team that takes that risk...
