I want to see more Sheed starting ala KT. Better defense, better offense, great floor spacing.
I just think the defense would be so much better this way. Having either Sheed or Marcus with Tyson. Amare and whomever off bench.
Would be interested to see if we can dominate defensively with the twin towers and communication specialists Sheed and Tyson.
The value of elite scoring ability, by Phil Jackson:
"This is a guy, we recognize his talent, and his skill is the kind of skill and talent that gets you through playoff games where things get sticky, grind-out, and basketball becomes a force game and suddenly you need to have a player who has the capabilities of scoring with someone hanging on them in a situation thatís critical. Heís one of those players, one of the few players who can do that.Ē
not a trade thread but just for the record, Knicks cannot trade one player for two, we have a full roster
Now I can't fly my airplane
Any updates on Amare's knee??
any updates on melos knee?
Kidd and Chandler will play.
Sheed, Melo and Amar'e are questionable.
Melo will practice today though so that's a good sign
I swear we must have one of the worst medical staffs in the game. No one comes back on time, no one. Expect Felton to be back next season at the earliest.
He hits some of the shots (which is great, he did well vs the Lakers). But it seems the spacing provides issues for everybody else to find an offensive rhythm.
I realize that isn't all his fault, because Felton has been struggling and Ronnie for sure. But when the floor is really spread (like Sheed can do). Melo gets so much space to operate inside, it just makes him and everybody else better. The PnR game does as well
I dont want Felton back until hes 100% or pretty damn close to it hopefully priggs can fill that penetration role during the stop gap
his hands really ****ed his game he should have sat and rested sooner
I hate seeing ray ray struggle luv the dude and he loves NY
rooting for him
need some sheed
Whats up guys. Sorry i have been MIA but i was partying pretty hard for New Years. Anywho, im back and will update this thread as the injury updates come in today. Here is where we stand as of right now:
STAT - Amare said he felt good in practice yesterday 1day after his first game back. I expected Woody to play STAT the same way he started off with Sheed and Camby ie: 8-10 minutes so i found it kind of encouraging that he was able to give us 17 minutes. Looks like Amare is good to go, so i am going to begin phasing him out of this thread *fingers crossed*
Melo - Melo tweaked his knee again late in the portland game. I'm not sure how he is feeling today but will update once i get word
Tyson - Tyson got his butt whooped on the boards against portland. It was really really frustrating. i dont think STAT helped much either so he should share some of the blame as well. But apparently, Tyson's sprained ankle was bothering him during the game. I'm assuming he'll feel better and play better tonight.
Sheed - still no timetable for his return. This sucks. We need him back in the worst way for our defense sake. Although Camby is starting to pick it up.
Shump - Shump has started individual contact drills but has yet to be cleared for 5 on 5 contact. I'm pretty sure he will get cleared within the next couple of weeks. We really need him to help solidify our perimeter D. Ronnie has given us absolutely nothing the last couple of weeks.
Kidd - is kidd hurt? he was shooting the ball kind of weird against Portland. He was shooting as if his back was hurting him.
Those are the updates as I know them right now. I'll update this throughout the day today once we start getting the official words from the knicks beat writers.
Sheed is out for all the games this week.
Everyone is playing tonight except Sheed, Shump and Felton.
FWIW, STAT said he doesn't have pain in his knee but it sounded like he just said it to get the media to stop asking him about it.
Tyson said his ankle feels a little better - leading me to believe he still has some discomfort in there.
And there have been no reports on Melo's knee so i'm going to go ahead and assume he is 100%.
