He may be older and there are injury concerns, but you're right he always had patience and a nice cutback...could be just what we need.

I'm in total disbelief that TT went and did this. I think it's absolutely the right move though. Like someone else in here said, Grant always seemed like a cold weather back, and he has the advantage over every one else in already knowing the system. It's not like he looked washed up last season anyway, so being fresh should make him look even better.

The thing about Grant was that he got better as the game went on which is what the packers could use when they're trying to hold a lead late in the game. Can he still do that? That's the question

The injuries to this year’s team will be a lot harder to overcome vs. the '10 teams. I like the signing. He's very familiar with the system already and he should be in decent shape considering that he's been on another squad already this year.

this signing really doesn't bother me we need the depth because of injuries and he is the only one capable at this point. He knows the offense like others have said and won't have to sit for a couple weeks before getting playing time.

Grant's #1 job is keeping Rodgers upright. Remember our OLine people??? With Grant back there they may be able to ease off the max protect help they are giving Barclay and Newhouse. This means that we get two extra receivers on a pass play.

1 - The guy not staying in and helping
2 - Grant... even if he stays in most of the time... the check-down is there. And if they use it... they'll have to account for it.

    Need more gravy?

Ball security... Grant is usually pretty secure (and Starks isn't).
We can expect 3.8 - 4.2 average out of the guy.

Is 3rd & 1 solved? No... but even Adrian Peterson doesn't get every 3rd & 1. Look at last weeks game.

    1) grant isnt very good at pass protection, he gets in the way but thats about it

    2) starks has lost one fumble his entire career and has only had 3 total in 3 years, grant has lost 9 out of 10 total in 6 years - if we want to count preseason grant is even worse

I believe the actual vagas odds are 1,028 over/under. I talked my neighbor into betting his house on the over. By the way he's not real smart, he's a Bears fan.

Grant is far better protecting the ball. According to PFR he has 8 fumbles in 925 carries. Not sure where you got 10.

Starks has 3 in 233 carries.

Grant is 1 in 115 carries.

Starks is 1 in 77 carries.

To be fair about it and not just use "years"

nfl.com says he has 7 fumbles in the regular season and 3 in the playoffs (2 against seattle and one last year)
