This deal needed to be done. They would be hurting without him. They did what they had to do to sign him but he's 37!!!! I'm hearing they are going hard for Stanton now.

That's exactly what they seem like they're doing. I hope they prove me wrong.

I'm surprised they gave him 3 guaranteed years, but this was one of the inevitable moves of the offseason.

They proved you wrong this last season, I like their chances to do it again.

As much as I like him, this is a bad signing for you guys. Too long and too much.

I would've been ok with a 2yr/13.5M deal, but just wish they stayed out a third year.

I'm sure Joe Panik will be up by year 3. Scutaro will be a really expensive utility inf, but he should be good for at least year 1.

I will always like Scutaro from a documentary I saw several years ago.

It'll be interesting to see how much he plays in that 3rd season.

A player to be named later

It was a documentary about some minor leaguers, in Indianapolis (who were the Brewers affiliate in 01 when it was filmed)

I think it's on Netflix IIRC

It's pretty much meh. I don't think he's anything but a scrappy average infielder.

I didn't realize he was 37, but this still seems like a good signing considering what others are getting.
