Yeah, it takes a New England based expert on the Jacksonville Jaguar's quarterback (via Missouri) to clear up all the misconceptions. All those people who actually watch him play should be ashamed of themselves. We all know Barkley has a better "command of pro offenses" because we've had exactly how many years to watch him perform as a pro? It's been so many now I've lost count. And certainly 215 pound Geno Smith with his 4.86 timed 40 has to be a "much better athlete" than Gabbert running it in 4.6 at 240 pounds. Because....well....just because, I guess. Those athletic tests the league spends multi millions of dollars running every year can be so deceiving. Take a bet with you, TOAD. Gabbert has better numbers than Smith in every Combine test he takes this year. From 40 yard dash to Wonderlic.

Well, I know there's a lot of funny stuff going on at USC, but I don't quite think they're full fledged "pros" quite yet. We'll see how Barkley does in a pro offense when he plays as a pro. Whether that be next season or several years down the line. Gabbert has no problem in pro style setup. He was the top rated PRO STYLE prospect coming out of high school at the position, committed to a pro style system at Nebraska, and only went to Mizzou after the coach who recruited him was fired. Then he kept his dropback skills intact with his personal coach who lived just outside Columbus. The problem in Jacksonville isn't that Gabbert hasn't learned the offense, it's that the receivers haven't. Mike Mularkey came out and said that a couple of times earlier this season. Gabbert is throwing to a spot in the offense and the receivers aren't there.

His performance so far in his first two seasons has been way above average for a first round drafted quarterback. If you look just at the guys who were drafted higher than him over the past four years, Luck, Griffin, Tannehill, Newton, Locker, Bradford, Stafford, Sanchez, all taken between #1 and #8 overall, he is mid point statistically right now of that group. He is younger than all of them except Griffin (by a couple months), and has probably had the least to work with of any of them so far in his career.

Pro Football Weekly and NFL.com both have a numberical rating system they assign prospects declaring for the draft. Pretty sure at this point that Gabbert's grades from both outlets in 2011 will be higher than Smith, Barkley, or any other QB prospect gets this year.

Where have we ranked in the passing game with him at qb? What has he done to compare to any of the ones that was mentioned? What is our record with him at QB?

I can go on and on and on. Bring up how he's younger than most guys all you want, he hasn't done jack in his first 2 years in the league. You should be starting to show you can lead a team if your a franchise quarterback and he hasn't done that.

Be done man. He isn't the answer. Mularkey seems to have lost faith in him even. Gabbert was planning on coming back a few weeks ago in the game. Henne played ok, and what happened? Gabbert went to questionable to return, than doubtful, than out. Where's he at now? The IR.
