Who actually thinks Boras will let Ellsbury sign an extension? Not me.
Ellsbury's value isn't that great right now. Best bet for them is a deadline deal where he has been healthy and played well (2011 level not needed).

Ells for garza actually makes some sense I think
lol, small kid got tripped by a tuba player
I'm not sure the Cubs make that deal, but then again, I'm not sure really what mode the Cubs are in right now. I think Theo wants to flip Garza for a package of prospects, including some high upside arms.
Theo however is familiar with ells, and the cubs need something to not be absolutely terrible lol. Ells' upside is much higher than Garza aswell but it fills a need for both teamsOriginally Posted by Fukudome:24591424

Theo could opt to do something like this, but if I had to guess he'd perfer to turn Garza into long term assets. We the Cubs aren't close to contending, so if we could swap Garza into a legit upper minors arm or something of that nature, I'm sure we'd be more apt to do that.
this is the guy braves need to get

There are 3 teams that make sense for Ellsbury, IMO, because they all have some pitching they can afford to trade.
Atlanta - Teheran or Mike Minor +?
San Francisco - Vogelsong or Surkamp +? Maybe Ells for Lincecum?
Seattle - Wonder if they'd come up with a package of Hultzen or Vargas along with another arm, Capps?
Just thinking out loud, but those seem to be the 3 logical destination.
Here's to feeling good all the time.
Like this kid, but he plays really hard and very risky.
I've always seen him as a Grady Sizemore, a player who gives it his all, but risks injury.
I would say trade him to Oakland, but they already have Crisp.
My Phillies need a CF'er, but we don't have enough to entice Boston imo.
Agreed. I mean Biddle is pretty good, but May is overrated and if he wasn't, Phillies fans wouldnt put him in literally 80% of their trade ideas. Still I dont see them being able to pony up what the Sox are looking for. But there's always three way deals so don't count the Phillies out. They're due for a big move.
