Let the Dodgers over pay for him.... Greinke is good but he isnt worth that kind of cash.

I say Texas gets him if they get Upton deal done. They will let Hamilton walk. Smart move if they pull that off.

Demographically speaking, you can't compare LA to Anaheim/Orange County.

I'm not arguing against you, but a lil bit more pressure pitching for the Dodgers in Los Angeles, compared to Anaheim. I think the pressure comment derives from the LA Times (imo one of the worst newpapers at covering sports).

It's just what the market dictates. All in timing. Scutero and Pegan, although not nearly as expensive, made the Giants bite the bullet and pay up a bit because of timing and the market.

Greinke is gonna benefit from being the clear best pitcher in a thin market. It is what it is.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Texas. In fact, I'm expecting it.

As for anxiety, LA doesn't have harsh media. People don't follow players home and harass them like on the East Coast. Fans come out in record numbers but are laid back--it's the socal lifestyle. He'd be perfectly fine.

Anaheim isn't in LA btw to a previous poster. Only 30 miles apart but completely different worlds. I've lived in both LA and OC. Completely different.

If the Dodgers miss out on Greinke they will have to hit the drawing board hard.

Source: #Dodgers spoke with Greinke reps today, not clear where talks stand. Plan to sign TWO SPs. Maybe Greinke-Ryu, even Greinke-Sanchez.

Disagree. Make a trade for someone like Shields with Dee and Lee, and then sign Anibal.

    Kershaw-Shields-Anibal-Billingsley-Beckett still bangs

Considering that Beckett pitched like an All-Star in his time in LA, and that the NL West is the easiest division to pitch in, I would think that would be very good. Beckett is due for a good year again (odd # year).

Why would the Rays want Dee and Lee for Shields?

You obviously know little of the Rays tactics.
