Should the Royals trade Wil Myers?

In their quest for a top of the rotation pitcher, he's apparently available, limited to only pitchers. Say they do trade him for an ace type pitcher, whoever that is, is this a move that even puts them into contention? Or shuold they just sit tight with their core of hitters, Myers, Hosmer, Moustakes, Gordon, Butler, and wait it out to develop their own pitching or find a less costlier price for a good pitcher?

Trade him for a proven good young pitcher.

I think they should trade him. Better to grow arms and buy bats.

For the right pitcher yes. Rarely do teams want to swap a young pitcher for a young hitter though.

    They need starting pitching...

I would deal him if they can get overwhelmed.

What ever happened to Mike Montgomery? I remember he had a great start to his minor league career, and he's gotta be getting pretty old because that was 3 or 4 years ago. Wasn't he supposed to be their ace of the future?

It seems like the Rays and the Royals could figure out a trade that would be mutually beneficial.

If they get the pitching they need in return. Otherwise, they should consider against it.

On this note I thought they had about 3 - 4 young studs and I haven't seen anything about them in awhile

Yeah, it's pretty rare. Other than the Montero for Pineda swap.

He was horrible these past 2 years. He pitched 150.2 innings of 5.30 ball in 2011, then 149.2 innings of 6.07 ball in 2012. He hasn't pitched very good since A+. He did decent in AA in 2010.

Hosmer and Moustakas did good this past year, but they're he only ones o the several prospects that were supposed to be very good. But only time will tell.

Yes, but Dayton Moore loves to fap over prospects so he won't.
