Mets considering signing Mark Reynolds for OF

.320 obp isn't good, it's slightly below average.

True, but he gives you + slugging and 20+ homers. It's ridiculous to be picky, when we have no outfielders. If we can get him for a one or one yr deal w/ a option, do it.

And a .429 SLG for someone that biggest tool is power isn't good either.

Who else is out there can hit for power that we can get for cheap? not many so, he may not be the ideal person for the job, but what other options do we have?

At least there will always be a steady breeze blowing out of Citi with the fan power. What the major league record for strikeouts?

True, but the Mets will not get a big FA, so you have to kick the tires on guy's like Ludwick and Reynolds. If you can get one or both or those guys for a 1-2 year deal, you do it and don't look back.

He'll be better than anything Jason Bay provided but honestly... Mets need a SERIOUS big time bat in the outfield. Reynolds is not the answer but a poor option.

He has 35 home run pop, and the Mets need pop.

The problem is dealing with his possible defense in LF and a ton of strikeouts.

He's the ultimate feast or famine type hitter.

Maybe they're looking to sign him cause Duda will be involved in a deal with Dickey. Idk just a thought. He is a guarantee to hit at least 20 HR though. And like YoungStuna said, he might be decent enough out in LF. I would take him for a year and then spend big on one or two of the OFers next offseason

Imagine a lineup if Sandy can pull off Dickey for Myers.

    CF - Kirk
    2B - Murphy
    3B - Wright
    LF - Reynolds
    1B - Davis
    RF - Myers
    C - Thole/Flowers
    SS - Tejada

    Santana
    Niese
    Harvey
    Gee
    Wheeler

Damn good transition year if you ask me.
Agreed, but how are we getting Flowers in this situation?
