    Mike Morse On Waviers

Anyone interested in a power bat to help us make a real push in the playoffs? Think the mariners wanna get rid of him so we can get him for low prospect I think? What everyone think ?

How is a guy hitting .226/.283/.410 going to help us over what we already have?

I remember some wanted him last off season. We are short of power in the Minors, if we can get him on that basis/purpose - OK. Otherwise no interest.

Wait, park correction says this year he is: .240/.299/.434

Maybe Luccie would want a worse bat and glove to replace Napoli, since Napoli is a .250 hitter, and Morse era/park corrected career BA is .291. Oh! He must be better!

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

No thanks, I'd rather stick with what we have instead of going out and getting someone like Morse.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 49-62, games this week vs. Cardinals (3), Angels (3)
Indianapolis Colts: Good draft and off-season so far.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.

No Bagwell, stop trying to say I hate Napoli based on who he is. That is NOT so. Morse also is n offensive weapon at the corners is necessary to win, and if not that at least GREAT defensively. Napoli is NEITHER nor is Morse. I said a while ago a player like Encarcion is what you want. He is very good offensively, and has decent defensive skills. However, I don't remember who it was but someone who was chastising me said Nap was much better than Encarcion. Well, tell me that NOW. That is what you are looking for from a 1st baseman. Napoli is mediocre as both offensively and defensively (at best). Therre are at least 15 first baseman better offensively than Nap.

Napoli is definitely not mediocre, above average both offensively/defensively. There's a thing called stats, use them and stop throwing your garbage around because clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

    Hey, he lurks!

Napoli is in the mix for AL GG, he's been superb in the field. Despite his slump, overall Napoli has massively outplayed your insulting and ridiculous opinions/ predictions of 04/04/13, which I have quoted a number of times.

Don't you remember when you said the typical 1B should hit 40 HR's? How many did last year, and how many did this year?

BTW, let's hear about Drew while you are at it.

You must be one of the extreme experts on the game because you are the ONLY person offing the opinion that Napoli is no better than mediocre defensively. From print to broadcast, all observers of the game have been talking about the GREAT season he is having defensively. Defending this notion has really gone beyond absurd.

Be fair now, back in one week in May Napoli had an errant throw picked by Iggy and Napoli made an error, so once Lucchie confirmed his own biased opinion/stance he had no need to continue to waste his time watching, since it was a done deal in his head.

Napoli is the 7th best offensive 1B in the Majors in 2013. Morse is the 83rd best RF.

Encarnacion is a fine player, not much better than Napoli this year, and only the owner of two good years in his career, why are you changing the subject? You need to own up to your comments of April 4th, 2013 re Napoli.

Even more interesting is how Napoli ends up being the best defensive 1B in the Majors in 2013 (FG and BR and eye). Obviously you'll disagree because he made 3 meh fielding plays within a week early, he had another one about 8 days ago, outside of that he's been superb, too bad you missed it.

That's mediocre? 7th and 1st? You just keep digging that hole bigger and bigger... BTW, Napoli is the 43rd best positional player in MLB per FG.

That's what lucchie said..... he must be right... ooops, in the past four seasons (including this one) there have been 7 40+ HR seasons by 1B, less than two per season.

Of course, I don't know what 40 HR's has to do with it? Dunn is one of those guys with 41 (if you count him as a 1B), and he had a pathetic .333 OBP that year ('12), and was far less valuable than Napoli this year.
