Lets see Hixon > then Schillens and Bernard > then Greene. Also upgrading the RT spot and adding a vet OG who isn't that bad is a huge upgrade. You can't fix everything in 1 offseason, this a good start.

I agree on all unrestricted the only I may debate is Keller, that te Eifler or whatever from Notre Dame would be nice. A good vet Rt would also be nice. A lb or two. OL depth in the draft and just the thought Gio Bernard or some other solid back in the draft. Real comp for Sanchez (A Smith, M Moore) or this kid josh portis. A new coordinator calling plays.

I don't think you guys can wrap-up Slauson with a one-year deal. He's started for three years and has had success. He's looking for a long-term deal and has earned it coming off his rookie deal and more than this, teams will be willing to offer this. He'll laugh at a one-year deal. Your restricted guys will have to take it but not him.
Mathieu will not make it to the 7th. More like the 3rd or 4th IMO. He's a first round talent with superstar potential. Had Heisman talk about him before failing drug test. Not sure he could turn it around in New York though.
I think Braylon would've been a great fit before he once again stupidly self-destructed. He was a guy I would've gone after in the offseason if I were GM.
Good stuff though. Feel free to critique mine when it comes out.

Mathieu is a 4th round prospect. He was a good college player but is undersized for the NFL. Most analysts believe he offers more value as a returner than as a defensive player in the NFL.

Matthieu is a serious problem and a risk no one will take In the 4th round. Like the poster above me said he's way undersized too. The 4th round and even the 5th has too much value for a guy who lacks size and has been kicked off his team for drug charges that he can't get over.

Mathieu was not a 1st round talent IMO. I go to LSU and know that he was a great college player. He was an average coverage corner, but had a great nose for the ball. He also provides great value in the return game. I would take a flier on him late in the draft because he could be used in nickel and dime situations to blitz and if nothing else, he could turn into a very productive special teams player.

Forgive me if I am completely wacko with this, but I did my best:

2013 New York Jets Free Agents:

    Unrestricted:

    Yeremiah Bell-- Walk
    Mike DeVito-- Walk
Nick Folk—Resign to 1 year contract
    Shonn Greene-- Walk
    Dustin Keller-- Walk
Laron Landry—Resign to 3 year deal
    Brandon Moore-- Walk
    Chaz Schilens--Walk
    Matt Slauson-- Walk
Bryan Thomas—Resign to 1 year contract

    Restricted:

Jeff Cumberland Bring Back on a 1 year deal
Austin Howard Bring Back on a 1 year deal
Joshua Mauga Bring Back on a 1 year deal
Tanner Purdum Bring Back on a 1 year deal

    Exclusive Rights:

    Dennis Landolt Practice Squad
Isaiah Trufant Bring back on a 1 year deal

    Releases/Cuts:
OT Jason Smith—12 million cap savings
    S Eric Smith - $3,000,000
    OLB Calvin Pace $5,546,667
    ILB Bart Scott - $5,650,000
    NT Sione Pouha-- $3,833,332
QB Tim Tebow is traded to Jacksonville for a 5th round pick. Saves the Jets $2,586,875

    *** Jets save $32,616,874***

    Free Agent Signings:

    1) NY Jets sign RB Steven Jackson (St. Louis) to 2 year contract
    2) NY Jets sign OLB Paul Kruger (Baltimore) to a 4 year contract
    3) NY Jets sign LG Andy Levitre (Buffalo) to 4 year contract
    4) NY Jets sign S Jim Leonhard (Denver) to 1 year deal
    5) NY Jets sign C/G Robert Turner (St. Louis) to 1 year deal
    6) NY Jets sign LB Taveras Gooden (San Francisco) to 2 year deal
    7) NY Jets sign TE Anthony Fasano (Miami) to 2 year deal
    8) NY Jets sign WR Devery Henderson (New Orleans) to 3 year deal

    NFL Draft:
1st round—G Chance Warmack, Alabama: The Jets take a guard in round 1 to replace Brandon Moore. Warmack stabilizes this position for many years to come. If the Jets also sign Levitre, an o-line of Ferguson, Levitre, Mangold, Warmack, Howard is much more stable.

2nd round—QB Landry Jones, Oklahoma: Here is the Jets “hopeful” Franchise QB of the future. The Jets go into next season with Sanchez, McElroy, and Jones as their depth chart.

3rd round—S Robert Lester, Alabama: Jets will go with Leonhard and Landry to start the year, with the intention of Lester and Landry by mid-season or the end.

I only did rounds 1-3 with mine.

    Depth Chart:

    QB-- Sanchez, McElroy, Jones
    RB-- Jackson, Powell, McKnight
    FB-- Rookie
    WR-- Holmes, Henderson, Kerley, Hill
    TE-- Fasano, Reuland, Cumberland
O-line-- Ferguson, Levitre, Mangold, Warmack, Howard, Turner, Ducasse, Schauderleff, rookie
D-Line-- Coples, Wilkerson, Ellis, Harrison, rookie,
LB-- Kruger, Davis, Harris, McIntyre, Gooden, Bellore, Thomas, Sapp, Mauga
CB--Revis, Cromartie, Trufant, Wilson, Lankster, Berry,
S-- Landry, Leonhard, Lester, Bush, Allen
    K-- Folk
    P-- Malone
    LS-- Purdum

Have 2 spots left open for a D-line and perhaps a WR for depth.

Did my best! Hope all enjoy!

QB Tim Tebow trade to Jacksonville for a 6th round pick. Saves the Jets $2,586,875

    Jets save $32,616,874

    Free Agent Signings:

    1) NY Jets sign QB Jason Cambell (Chicago) to 2 year contract
    2) NY Jets sign WR Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City) to a 4 year contract
    3) NY Jets sign LG Andy Levitre (Buffalo) to 4 year contract
    4) NY Jets sign S Tanard Jackson (Washington) to 2 year deal
    5) NY Jets sign RT Kraig Urbik (Buffalo) to 1 year deal
    6) NY Jets sign OLB Daryl Smith (Jacksonville) to 4 year deal
    7) NY Jets sign TE Dallas Clark (TB) to 2 year deal
    8) NY Jets sign K Rob Bironas (Tennessee) to 2 year deal

    NFL Draft:
1st round— DE Sam Montgomery, LSU: I know what you are thinking, another D-Line men. But face it, if you want the best out of Coples, the Jets need to switch to a 4-3. A pass rusher is still a huge need and putting Montgomery who looks likes he could put up 10 sacks a year at the next level on the opposite side of Coples solves that problem. Mo Wilk then switches to a DT/DE role which he has played terrifically in this year when we have gone to a 4-3 and our D-Line is a young one, but a talented one.

2nd round—QB Aaron Murray, Georgia: Need a QB, but shouldn't take one in the first. 2nd or 3rd is fine, look at Russel Wilson. There are a handful of quality QBs available here from Murray, Jones, Manuel, and Nassib. Have him sit either full year or most of the year behind Campbell or Sanchez and hope he can develop.

TRADE UP 2nd round— RB Eddie Lacy, Alabama: Need a RB if we aren't going to sign one. I think it is smart move to DRAFT a RB and sign a WR. Lacy has good speed and power. Have him split carries with Powell. Trade our 3rd and 5th for a late 2nd and 6th.

    Depth Chart:

    QB-- Cambell, Sanchez, Murray
    RB-- Powell, Lacey, McKnight
    FB-- Rookie
WR-- Holmes (Trade Block), Bowe, Kerley, Hill
    TE-- Clark, Cumberland
O-line-- Ferguson, Levitre, Mangold, Slauson, Urbik
    D-Line-- Coples, Wilkerson, Ellis, Montgomery
LB-- Smith, Davis, Harris, Rookie or McIntyre
CB--Revis, Cromartie, Wilson, Lankster, Berry, Trufant
    S-- Landry, Jackson, Bush, Allen
    K-- Bironas
    P-- Malone
    LS-- Purdum

Very Early for this, but I still think it makes sense to fill out all 3 out of these 4 positions in the first 3 rounds: [HB, QB, Pass Rusher (OLB-3-4 or DE- 4-3), or O-Line]

Levitre isn't going to sign a 4 year deal. He's one of the best guards in the NFL and he's going to get paid like one. 6 year deal minimum with a lot of guaranteed money.

Burfict ran a 4.9. He was lost his senior season and had a horrible combine. He was lucky to get drafted and was more or less a Youtube cult phenom and nothing more. I'm not comparing the two just yet as being somehow equal. We'll see where he goes and of course, how he does in the combine. I think he could be a shut-down #2 CB or nickel guy which is a very valuable commodity and worth more than a throw-away 7th but again, we'll see.
