in 2012 Granderson had 43 HR, with 26 at home and 17 on the road. but in 2011 Granderson has 41 HR, with 21 at home and 20 on the road.

I wouldn't agree that Gordon had the better season in 2011. but I'm only looking at offensive numbers.
Gordon looks like the better hitter, but how much did Gordon benefit from .356 BABIP in 2012 and .358 BABIP in 2011.
they both walk good. Granderson at career 10.3% and Gordon at career 9.9%. they both strike out at a high rate, although Granderson more. Granderson career 22.9%, but 28.5% in 2012 and 24.5% in 2011. Gordon is career 21.0%.
    Gordon's FB rate has been dropping. 2009- 42.0%. 2010- 39.2%. 2011- 38.5%. 2012- 32.7%. he's not going to hit a lot of HR with that last FB%.
Granderson will be 32 next March. Gordon will be 29 next February.

Easily give me Gordon over Granderson

In 2011 Granderson had a career year, but that's not really him. The majority of his career he's been just an above average hitter.

I didn't argue that Gordon was better in 2011. Granderson was the better player that year, but Gordon was better in 2012. Had a better OPS, better wOBA, better wRC+, and was a better run producer.

Gordon struck out quite a bit when he first came up and while he does strike out more than I would like he's improved his K rate the past three years while Granderson has increased his K rate over the same span. But Granderson does have a bit better walk rate.

Gordon doesn't need to hit a lot of HRs. HRs aren't everything. He had more XBH than Granderson even though he hit 43HRs.

I thought Gordon was a bit younger than 29, but I'd still easily take him over Granderson.

Granderson had a down year in 2012 with .232 AVG/.319 OBP. career low in AVG, and almost career low in OBP if not for .314 OBP in 2005 with 47 games and 162 AB. but I wouldn't expect those again. he did have a low .260 BABIP even with 23.0 LD%. he was still pretty productive.

I don't want it to sound like i would trade Gordon for Granderson if I was the Royals. over the contracts I would definitely want Gordon. but if they were both on 1 year deals for 2013 I think Granderson would have the more productive season.

How about Granderson and Nova for Feliz Hernández, if the Mariners want another pitcher send Pineda back to them. Then NYY will sign Josh Hamilton...

Overall Granderson still had an above average year which he has done the majority of his career outside of 2011 and 2007. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

On a one-year deal I'd still prefer Gordon because he plays great defense and still hits at a high level.

This would also clear cash for Ichiro .283 9 HR 55 RBI 29 SB's.
    How's that for a deal?

Seems like your teacher failed to teach you not to take everything so serious. Anyone who failed to believe he was being sarcastic has no room to talk.
