As for Knight, he just turned 21 and is in his second year on a team that was lottery the year before he was drafted, the year he was drafted and if things don't turn around quickly, the year after he was drafted.

He's averaging 13.5/5.3 this season. 1 more 3 per game with a FT and he's at 18 (rounding). My main concern, and I don't watch any games other than highlights and look at the box score, is that we're not a high octane offense, Stuck/Tay sometimes handle the ball up court and he's still averaging an above normal T/O, IMHO.

Good I dont want him to go anywhere before i see him develop a little bit more.I will admit hes been dissapointing so far but I actually like his game and if he becomes a 20 and 6 guy im good with it but he does have to learn to control the offense better.If hes not better by extension time than ditch him and grab a new one in free agency because im sure there will be some good PGs for grabs come that time as long as Dumars doesnt waste all of our money this offseason.

You can't "save" up for FA, per se'. Dallas is able to do it because they can be competitive with Dirk, Marion and some others they grabbed this off season, but nobody is coming to Det on a one year deal unless we overpay given our current foreseeable record. Heck, they'll take a pay cut for a longer contract on a midlevel or contending team before they sign with us.

And if we aren't competitive now, WTF are we looking at if we sit on 8-15M from next summer to the next? There won't be enough talent.

Exactly. I've been saying that. People are expecting too much too soon. No playoff team here for a few years. Live with it or tear your hair out and get on high blood pressure meds. I stopped worrying about this crap years ago. Out of my control. I sleep really good at night. It helps that have my teddy bear snuggleing with me.

I think Knight is trying to push himself a bit faster than he needs to. he is not the link to us winning a championship in the next 2 seasons. I think he is an overachiever and his game will catch up to his where his mind(and coaches) want him to be.

Calderon?, I think he would be a huge upgrade over Bynum. He could push Knight into different rotation with English or Stuckey. I wouldn't mind seeing Calderon and Knight on the floor in "small ball" situations. Maybe 2yrs/8mil$ or 3yrs/12mil$?

there are players who play well in the regular season and who don't show up in the playoffs and there are players who show up no matter what. The players who don't show up are the players Rose has and thats why his Bulls team hasn't done crap in the playoffs

When did I say those guys were ever pure point guards? In fact there are anlysts who even say those guys are really 2 guards. But the difference is, that those teams need them to score. Okc doesn't need a pg cause they have 3 guys that can create their own offense. Rose needs to score and doesn't have anyone else, and thats why his bulls teams never shows up in the playoffs.Our team who doesn't have a superstar to create there own offense and who are all role players, ya that type of team needs a point guard to set our players up.

I said I wasn't sure yo. I said that Irving has a problem staying on the court, same as E Gordon(not sure if you read the whole post). Knight has played in 19 more games than Irving over an 85 game stretch since last season. Knight hasn't missed a game. Not I wouldn't want Irving, but it better come with a first rd pick as insurance, straight up...again,not sure. I would have to what until after the season to see if he can play more than say 72 games a season.

Only thing Knight is better then stuckey in, is offense. There pg game is the exact same. And Knight is a horrible defender. Stuckey is better then him in that regard

If u go back & read thru the threads u will see Shyfly & a couple others say its because his turnovers. So I show them Irvings t.o.& now all of a sudden Irving has to turn the ball over that much cuz he gets doubled & trippled teamed.

Knights assist rate was HISOTRICALLY low for a rookie last year. Not just last year, historically! And this is w/ him leading all rookies in minutes. Those numbers are worse then stuckeys and we all know how good of a pg stuckey turned into.
