Too bad Stanton has no leverage. He woulda left awhile ago. I feel if a player is unhappy with his current employer, he can leave the job and go work elsewhere. Same should be said for baseball.

Same should be said for anything, though, that's not how the military works, if you hate it doesn't matter you usually have to fulfill the contract.

I think they are better off holding on to him until mid season when they can trade him to a team desperate for middle infield help, they could probably get more back that way.

It does make sense to move him. Hech is a very good defender at SS, likely better than Yunel who is no slouch. Problem is neither of them possess at bat that plays at 3B, they should both be playing SS. Obviously the Marlins are building for the future so Hech is the guy.

They'll take a lot of flack if the move Escobar, but if they can get a starter out of some one it makes a lot of sense.

He could quit baseball all together, but he's signed a CONTRACT. You know, a legally binding document. That's why that won't happen.

If the Marlins were smart, they would sell high on Hechavarria. Chances are he'll never be a good hitting SS in this league. So keep Escobar - who is better all around and is still in his prime, and trade the 'prospect' that only has above-average defense and speed.

You don't have anything to complain about. At least you don't live in Cleveland

Hechavarria is cheap while Escobar cost 5 mil per year for 2 years. All the Marlins care about atm is not spending ANY money!

Don't know why people are upset to see he may be traded. IMO it actually makes more sense to trade him than keep him.
