    Speakers

I am looking for a speakers that are pretty damn good. Right now I just use my guitar amp cause I have the part to connect it to my ipod. It works but I cant go to loud or else the sound starts tweaking. Need something that can basically bump the house lol. Any ideas?

Browse here. Great reviews and good quality.

Just get a receiver, speakers and a subwoofer. If you can afford it.

what kinda setup you looking for exactly? Do you already have an amp or receiver to power the speakers? size limitations? budget?

I have an old receiver (kenwood a5040), you can probably pick one up for like $30 honestly. i've had it for like 8 years now and I've had virtually no problems with it.

I have two old RCA speakers, about 14 inches tall and 8 inches wide not as old as the receiver but i've taken good care of them. bass isn't great on them but they're pretty clear and the bass isn't really necessary since I have a decent sub woofer.

And finally I have a phillips fb201 sub woofer. the newest out of all the pieces but still rather old. works pretty seamlessly with the right settings. if you just want extreme bass it'll give you that but it won't be the most pleasant sound, no rattling or shaking though.

moral of the story is you can go grab a bunch of random equipment, throw it together and you'll have a nice sounding system. you don't need the newest stuff, just as long as it is in good condition. no need to break the bank on a home sound system. but you do need: a quality receiver, strong speaker wire, speakers that aren't busted, and a woofer that doesn't rattle.

Well, if u wanna shake the house, u'll prob need an amp/reciever, and either floorstanding speakers or bookshelf speakers + sub. And if u don't mind spending a lil more $$, then floorstanding + sub would be the best.

Newegg has some polk monitor speakers for decent price

    or

(keep in mind the bookshelves are per pair, the floorstanders are each)

I have the older version of those bookshelves, running off 110watts marantz receiver, pretty solid. Doesn't shake the house, but good enough for my apt.

My cousin has this sub here

Its a freakin BEAST. That **** sounds so clean, and bumps HARD its next level **** man for real. If I ever get a sub (no time soon, its wayy too much for an apt), it will be that one

Accessories4less always has some decent refurbished receivers for a good price, like
    http://www.accessories4less.com/make...eceiver/1.html

It all kinda depends on how much u want to spend, but all the things I listed are def very good bang for buck equipment.

    I use a SONOS play:3
    http://www.sonos.com/shop/products/play3

It looks small, but sounds HUGE. The shop where I work just has one of those out on the sales floor and it fills the room and sounds great. Excellent bass response as well. The best thing is I can control it with my laptop or iphone, and I can set up multiple room with sonos and have multiple players in the different rooms in sync, or on individual playlists/radio stations. It comes with the ability to listen to just about any radio station in the world for free, and integrates very well with rhapsody (what i use mostly), spotify, pandora, etc, as well as your personal music library whether it be winamp or itunes or whatever. Best 300 bucks I ever spent. If you want something that bumps a little more they have a sick sub and a bigger verison of the player I have as well.

yea, its ridiculous, I used to sell home theatre at fry's electronics, and that sub was honestly on par with $800+ subs we had.

Just to clear something up I wrote earlier, the bookshelf speakers I put a link to are probably not enough to keep up with a sub like that, the ones with 2 drivers would be significantly better.
