    Cano Situation.

Put yourself in Cano's shoes for a minute.

If you are him and see the direction of our team the next few years....

    Aging stars.
    Crappy farm.
    Budget restraints.

Aren't you saying.....heck, I'm getting my money anywhere. I'm heading to a team that will be a player for the next 7-8 years.

    Dodgers
    Nationals
    Tigers
    Angels

    I mean.....wouldn't ya?

I think a trade could be a smart play but not sure that would resonate well with teammates or fans.

    Dodgers?

Dee Gordon, Billingsley, some top specs ?

Great idea. Get rid of one of the best players in baseball. You should take Cashman's job away from him. Get rid of anyone who is really good who may want alot of money some day. Then when we don't get into the playoffs we can honestly say that we suck and it won't be such a big letdown.

I think Adams can handle MLB hitting. Or Nunez/Drew can be signed for 2B

I have made my point on Cano many times. Sign him to a reasonable deal or trade/let him walk. Yanks would have gotten most of his best years at a discount and he can make 20 mill per year for the next 7 years on some other team.

Nahhh, Yankee fans love seeing over-paid/under-performing athletes don the 'stripes.

Honestly, Cano doesn't strike me as the type who would value a successful team/atmosphere over whoever is the highest bidder. Obviously I don't know him personally, I just don't think he would say "man, team X gives me a better chance to win, so I'm going to take 10M less to go there"..

Whoever is paying him the most, that's where I'd bet he goes, whether it be us or elsewhere. Maybe we would get a SLIGHT edge if he likes it here in NY, but that's about it.

I'm all for trading him, instead of giving him that 20M per...

Agreed, hence I said he will get his money anywhere. I don't think the loot will be much different. He will have his choice.
