via Roto, give the kid a shot Roman, please.Mario Manningham (shoulder) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
A second missed practice increases the likelihood that Manningham will sit out Sunday versus the Dolphins. Randy Moss would move into the starting lineup with first-rounder A.J. Jenkins making his debut as the No. 4 receiver

Give him a shot AND let the HOFer actually play. Crabtree, Moss and Jenkins should be a pretty decent WR corps and with VD and Gore on the field also the D will have to spread pretty thin or leave an area vulnerable. BTW...Kaepernick could also evade a pass rush and end up 50 yds downfield.
Why are they screwing around with Kilgore and L Davis on the field again? I understand you want to run the ball, but don't you also want your "best 11" on the field. How are the two back up o-lineman better than having Moss, Crabtree and Manningham (when healthy) out there? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me unless it's 3 or 4th and 1.
I don't mind the player at all. I mind the theory of 7 o-lineman on the field instead of personnel set that allows for something good to happen. A good play with 7 o-lineman is a 4 yard gain. I know they've had a fluke play here an there where it worked (the GB TD by Gore comes to mind), but as a general rule the fomation gets them nothing but a wasted down. They have 1 or 2 successful plays (meaning they gain yardage) when they use those packages. The jumbo "backfields" seem to be better. Using multiple FBs has proven to be effective especially with Miller doing a good job as a receiver.
