Possible SP Targets

I noticed the other day that Jeff Karstens was non-tendered, what do you guys think of him?
Last year his ERA/FIP/xFIP was: 3.97/3.32/3.84, the year before 3.38/4.29/4.00.

The 30-year-old right-hander went 14-13 with an ERA of 3.59 the last two seasons as a regular member of the starting rotation. Karstens was 5-4 during a 2012 season in which he was able to work only 90 2/3 innings between shoulder and hip-flexor injuries.

I'd kick the tires to see if we can slot him into the bullpen as a long man and insurance for the inevitable injuries. I believe he might have an option left as well.

Hes's obviously no sexy name, but we could get him for cheap and I'd rather him at ~$2M then Marcum at ~$8M, given that they should put up similar numbers (Marcum: 3.70/4.20/4.21 last year) over a similar number of innings.
