I don't think the bulls will try to go after Bron or Melo in 2014. Though Rudy Gay is a big possibility.

The consensus is the Bulls will use amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer and trade Taj Gibson(ala Kirk Hinrich in 2010) in 2014, to clear some cap space. Noah and D.Rose are basically keepers. Teague and Butler are cheap quality players and their in too. Bulls have a hard time finding a starter SG, so their expected to extend Belinelli via bird rights, with just $2.454M cap hold.

That's $37.707M payroll in 2014 with D.Rose, Teague, Butler and Noah signed plus Belinelli's cap hold. Add a 2013 first round pick with a maximum of $1,563,120 for a playoff team and a second round pick with $507,336, bulls will have it's payroll at $39,777,544 in 2014. That means $18,522,456 under the cap. A figure that is almost equivalent to Rudy Gay's maximum salary.

They can easily land a first round pick and draft rights of someone like Tibor Pleiss by trading Taj Gibson in 2014. They can stuff themselves with two quality bigs next 2013 draft, in preparation for Boozer and Gibson departure.

can't believe people still clamor for Rudy Gay. The guy is so ****ing overrated. Besides, he won't be opting out of his deal after the 2013/14 season, so the earliest anyone should even think of him coming here would be in the summer of 2015.

I never liked Rudy Gay. As for the thread title, forget it. I can only hope that LeBron loses both this year and next year with the Heat and due to the respect he has for Thibodeau, decides to come here. Long shot anyway, so I'm not too concerned.
