    Brad Lidge is retiring

Free-agent reliever Brad Lidge has informed his agents, Rex Gary & Jim Turner, that he plans to retire. One of the all-time class acts.

Phenomenal athlete. Could be HOF worthy. It will be close.

No way he is close to HOF worthy with 225 saves and a career 3.54 career ERA.

Was a good closer in his hey day but his signature moment will always be that home run he allowed to Pujols in the 05' NLCS.

    He didn't suck either...

He was a good closer who had inconsistency and injury issues that derailed his career.

I thought it was in '08 when he never blew a save opportunity. Man, society is always so negative.

Yeah seriously. His signature moment for me is striking out Hinske in game 5 part 2. Thanks for the memories!

MLB Network is doing Baseball Seasons right now, and they just did the 2005.

    Lidge vs Pujols just happened
