Doubt it was Hamilton, most likely Grilli.
Xander Bogaerts, that is all.
ohGordonEdes One m-l source said that if Hamilton doesn't re-sign with Texas, Seattle looms as more likely landing spot than Boston
Pete Abraham @PeteAbe
Cherington admitted to meeting with a "a player" while in Nashville. Wouldn't say who. But it was Hamilton, pre Victorino deal
They told him to go kick crack rocks then made him pay for lunch.

Plenty of players get into trouble with alcohol, not many are the 2000's version of Darryl Strawberry. He's already had momentary lapses of judgment. How can you trust him to deal with the insane media scrutiny of Boston? Crawford couldn't, Gonzalez barely could, and know you'd be asking a former drug dependent player to? Not to mention he isnt a perfect fit because of his age and declining defense.
And he is not as good as Cabrera as a hitter. Not even close.

It was pre-Victorino.
Xander Bogaerts, that is all.
Just realized that by signing Victorino for $39M BC effectively pushed Swisher out of the Orioles' price range. That's a bonus.
i rather overpay Victorino then sign Hamilton to a big money deal.
