Plenty of players get into trouble with alcohol, not many are the 2000's version of Darryl Strawberry. He's already had momentary lapses of judgment. How can you trust him to deal with the insane media scrutiny of Boston? Crawford couldn't, Gonzalez barely could, and know you'd be asking a former drug dependent player to? Just realized that by signing Victorino for $39M BC effectively pushed Swisher out of the Orioles' price range. That's a bonus.
