I'm thinking Kevin Youkilis and Cody Ross are the Red Sox to make the jump over to the dark side known aka the New York Yankees. With Arod going down the are in need for a third basemen Youk would be cheap and could come on a 1 yr deal and it is already reported that the Yankees are in on Cody Ross he is cheaper an will put up numbers close to what Swisher put up last year. Plus the Yankees have the $ to give Ross what he has been looking for since last year when he signed with the Sox to get his value up. Plus it's stealing a player from

This Hamilton conversation has taken on a life of its own. Here's the thing...
It doesn't really matter whether we think Hamilton is a good fit personality-wise in Boston or if he can handle the pressure. And it doesn't matter if we think he's going to relapse (impossible to predict). My reason for not wanting Josh Hamilton on the 2013 Sox is that he's the poster boy for exactly what the FO is trying to avoid.

They are building for the future. He's a 31-year old outfielder who gets injured a fair amount and is going to demand a massive contract. Some people on this board are acting like signing him for 5 years and $130 million is somehow getting him for short years since he was expected to ask for 7 years and $175 million or whatever. It's still 5 friggin' years! Even 4 is crazy to me. I know it's like a feeding frenzy in here once that first move happens but let's keep our heads on straight. This doesn't make sense and I hope it doesn't happen.

The thing i finally figured about players is that, they want financial and home stability . They dont want to buy a property in whatever team/city they sign with only to be traded,released and have to move their family again.

No star player is going to sign a one year contract. It is wishful thinking by us fan. I was even surprised when Beltre did it. Hamilton gets a 4 year contact at least.

That's crazy and too much for Stanton. I pass. What do we want to do,deplete our farm system. That package should go for King Felix.
