Ha ha.Pass. I would prefer Swisher or Hamilton. Gomes makes ross redundant.

I give him a chance but in Boston if you sign with us and you overpaid and dont Produce, we will eat you alive. It good for the players considering signing in Boston to take a slight paycut.

Well, until the deal is done or not done with Napoli, too hard to call.

No Napoli means Swisher for 4 years for over $15M per IMO, and no Hamilton.

Napoli, Dempster, Gomes, Victorino.... no Hamilton, and maybe Ellsbury isn't dealt, and he plays out the year.

No matter what I can't see Hamilton coming for 4 for say 104.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Few think that way. It's a gauge against other players (status). In Boston you have high cost of living and taxes. You have to get at least 10% over Texas for instance due to the cost of living. NY is the same as us.

Reading this makes no sense why there all over him.

    http://bostonglobe.com/sports/2012/1...AKK/story.html

    1. He was knocked against the Yankees and thats a big thing!

    2. He was knocked against the Angels.
I just dont get why there going after a pitcher who doesn't have it in the AL. There willing to go all out on him. I rather go all out on Sanchez or Jackson. Don't hate me on this but I see this will fail I have that feeling.

If Hamilton doesnt accept a 4 year 104 deal, he is stupid and i pass. how much is that per year.

Sanchez hasn't been that good in the AL with more IP's to prove it. He's going to get top 15 SP money AAV, and he's not that.

Jackson is a #3.5 starter going to get #1.5 SP money.

Dempster is a "good" clubhouse guy who is a #3.5 SP getting paid #2 SP money.

None of them is worth the dough they are going to make IMO.

I'd be willing to bet if you toss in Marcum to this mix, his price/performance over the next two years would rank him not worse than #2 among these 4.

Jackson sucks in the AL East.

    Well... 4/100 is $25M so 104 is $26M. Or a calculator - 104/4 will do the trick.

Actually that would be 108. 110 would be 27.5M per.

As I've been saying for about a week - to me he's easily worth 3/54 (that's 18). I could see 3/63 (21 per). But one more more year for $45M to get to 4/108? No thanks.

I like the Dempster signing for one reason... He's a clubhouse guy. I think he could be a good teacher to some of our pitchers. We need a guy like that. Do I think he will be an ace?? No probably not. Do I think he will be an above average starter for us?? Absolutely.

How about 3/39? that would give us 3 3/39 deals. It's going to be in that area I think.
