I would have snapped if Youk was a free agent 3 years ago and left for NY, but now? Lol who cares.

He'll be sitting beside A-rod in the doctors office in no time, breaking his toe, lascerating a finger fielding a ball at 3rd or just waking up on the wrong side of the bed and having his continual back issues.

I am however interested in seeing what he looks like without facial hair, that's about the only highlight of that deal. Not sure it's worth $12 million.

So? Theres alot of talent in the draft for that could be around the at 44th pick. also if you sign Swish or Hamilton it can affect the draft cap too.

Seriously what re we doing. Every player we want or like is going of the table.Choo is about to be traded,Caberera, and im sure swisher would be gone too. So would Hamilton. Even the good pitchers like sanchez, shields and greinke are out of our ranch. I like the financial restraint the red sox front office are preaching and showing but unfortunately that doesn't work in Baseball. I would lo

Do you have anxiety or something? Because every name you mentioned is still available with the exception of Grienke & Shields who we have never been seriously linked too.

It's just bad timing with this poor FA class, we don't want to do something like the Pistons did and blow our flexibility on Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

i hate how everyone is cashing in with these trades and we aren't

I mean the Indians essentially just traded a bum SS for a very good young SP prospect
Jackie Bradley Junior.... that is all

    Nick: .272/.361/.467/.828

    Shane: .275/.341/.430/.771

I would have picked Nick Swisher over Shane.
    Nick Swisher is a:

stiff in the playoffs compared to SV
cannot field well in Fenways RF, even in 2013 compared to SV or anybody decent
cannot play CF at all, SV can
    cannot run, SV can

NS is going to cost more money and likely more years than Victorino.

I have no idea why Sox fans are so down on Victorino unless they have some bizarre belief that we missed out on Hamilton to do it.

RS fans claim to love dirt dogs, and here is one, right here and you turn up your nose at him. Very strange.

Wait...the Indians are getting either Bauer or Colvin + Stubbs for Shin-soo fn' Choo? So you're telling me you wouldn't trade Ellsbury for that return? I'd do it and R-U-N. Maybe I am overvaluing prospects, but we're losing Ellsburry in one year anyway, it's not even a question at this point.

Seriously, we better do something else besides signing mediocre pitchers like Dempster, hardly enough to contend and not worth keeping valuable assets.

Choo is a player w/ one year of control left that cannot hit LHP at all - not a required get by any means.

Cabrerra would cost a great deal if traded, which I doubt.

Grienke was never coming here, and the Sox for good reason didn't want him. His contract is obscene.

Sanchez is cashing in due to a weak FA market, he's hardly elite like his price tag.

TB would be unlikely to deal Shields here unless we are talking XB, Barnes, and more.

    Talk about extroverting your anxiety...

How do you know? I doubt he's getting 6 years, can't see it. And for the last 3 years, he's been pretty good and consistent (17m$ earned per year) and is still "only" 28 years old. To be honest, I wouldn't have a huge problem giving Sanchez 4/60

I would love sanchez here for 4 years 60 id even be willing to give a fifth year vesting option as well sanchez is 28 pitched well in detroit and grew up through the red sox and would make our rotation a lot more formidable than any of the other FA options
