I agree with Swisher being a good fit because he's a high OBP guy. I think the ideal situation is a 3 year deal for Swisher. I believe a factor in signing Swisher is Brentz. I think they are hesitant to block him.
I think they are going to trade Lavarnway over Salty. I believe he has more value then Salty. He could ultimately help us get a very good pitcher. I'm a huge Lavarnway a Brentz fan, However if you sign Swisher i'd be ok in trading those two together in a deal to acquire a top of the rotation pitcher. I'd love it if it was a deal around a SP(Spec or Doubront) + Brentz, Lavarnway and Marrero for Justin Upton.
Move Swish to LF, Ellsbury in Center and Upton in RF. Thats a very impressive OF. Especially with Gomes, and Kalish as our 4th and 5th outfielders.
Let me ask you guys something. Lets say Josh Hamilton didn't have off field issues. Drugs, Alcohol. Would you still want him not at a big contract? I'm curious since hes of the of biggest FA. My answer would be yes without a question.
With a plethora of catchers in the mix, the Red Sox will field offers for Jarrod Saltalamacchia, tweets Jon Heyman.
if not in a package deal, what he could net us straight up?
EPIC
I don't see where victorino would fit on this lineup...need more middle of the order bats. I can't see him batting anywhere but 7-9. He's a top of the order kind of guy but the top of our order is solidified.

Please, check into Loney a bit. He had his best two years as a rookie and soph, once the pitchers got a bead on him, he's dropped every year. See Dave Stapelton for a comp.
He's never going to be an average level MLB 1B with the bat - ever. He barely made it his first two years. He's nothing.
yeah i rather trade salty in a package deal. Chisox, Mets & indians are the teams i see him going.
