Chavez was the best backup corner on the market. Great pickup for sure. It would suck for him if AZ acquires a 3B for Upton/Kubel though. They're more likely going for a SS though.

why would Arizona want Chavez? what is wrong with only using Chris Johnson?
Johnson was disappointing in 2011, but had a good season in 2010 and was solid in 2012.
I can't see Chavez going there knowing/expecting that he wouldn't get regular/semi regular AB. but I think Johnson is good enough to be the regular.
