It would have to come to that...considering he's already cost the team 2 Ws this year.

Maybe even 3 Ws. Perhaps Alex Smith doesn't force passes which led to 3 2nd half interceptions against the Giants if Akers didn't miss 2 FGs in the first half.

True that. Delanie shares a LOT of blame in the momentum swing that day though. Alex's first INT was not a very good throw, but Walker didn't to a darn thing to break up the INT. If you actually look at the pic on SI.com when the ball is being caught by the defender...Delanie is almost flat footed. Never even went up to make a play.

Missing those FGs did hurt though. You know what ticked me off actually...Seeing Mare this weekend and realizing he was a FA. Why didn't they sign him? Not the greatest kicker ever or anything, but not the playoff disaster Kaeding is and is a vet who has made some big kicks in his career.

If you guys don't like Kaeding, how about Neil Rackers? He's out there. Along with Longwell.

I don't like Rackers at all. Longwell, I'll defer to your opinion. I know he used to be good, but don't know much about him.

LMAO, with your support of Kaep over Alex, I find this a bit funny.

Not really the same situation. Kap showed me against an elite defense on a big stage at the NFL level that he could be counted on to play better than Alex. Tavecchio has never kicked the ball in the NFL and only had 1 season in college where he kicked 70% or higher.

I hope Akers remains the kicker at least for the rest of the season. He is a class act and deserves a ring with us.

No change at kicker, but did you watch the press conference? He hesitated and stumbled over his words when answering the question. I think Akers is on his last leg.
