Pros and Cons: Week 13

Pros:

1) Defense-- 6 points allowed, a few sacks, INT by Landry. Great performance today with the offense struggling.

2) Rushing attack-- Shonn Greene 104 yards, Powell 55. Nice attack!!!

3) Greg McElroy-- Led the Jets only scoring drive and could have had another one. Be interesting to see if Rex pulls the trigger next week at Jacksonville.

Cons:

1) Mark Sanchez-- 10-21, 97 yards and 3 INT's.

2) Special Teams-- 2 missed FG's by Folk, Fake punt allowed. Again,

3. We actually have a High IQ QB keep him starting the rest of the year period

1. Sanchez not being pulled sooner

Tad bit of an overstatement. But he did have a nice showing. For him at least.

But seriously...

Pros:

1) Defense: Mo continues to make an impact and Landry as well. Hope he can afford to re-sign him.

2) Green and Powell looked good against a very solid defense

3) McElroy: Looked very poised. Seems to have confidence and a little bit of fire in him. Seems to be a smart Qb and have a feel for the game. But he didn't do too much. He didn't have to.

Cons:

1) It's clear Mark Sanchez was a wasted #5 overall pick

2) Mark Sanchez will still be on the team next season

3) Our offense will still be bad

I loved when he drew that late hit going out of bounds you saw him get straight up and chuntering away to the guy who hit him. The lads got a chip on his shoulder for sure, and at this position thats a good thing.

He has that "I want to win" attitude to him, something sanchez lacks.

Agreed. Sanchez has that "Please don't let me **** this up" attitude. You can look at Luck and that game winning play he made. In a full-out desperation situation he made a calm, cool and wise decision. They had max coverage. So when he rolled out he saw no one was open in the endzone. He hit the check down and then proceeded to run up in case he needed to make a block.


That's just knowing the situation and knowing what is was going to take to win. I'd be willing to bet that Sanchez would have forced a throw into coverage.

And even the play before. I think there was 9 seconds left. He looks quickly and once he sees that no one is going to get open he throws the ball away with enough time to get off another play.

Knowing Sanchez he would have held on to the ball and tried to make something happen that wasn't there. Some guy just have that "it" factor.

It's clear that Sanchez does not. Maybe McElroy does.
