I absolutely would downgrade. Maybe it's my personal preference, but Windows 7 is a great OS and Windows8 is unknown yet.

Agreed. You can get a Windows 8 Upgrade disk for 40 bucks if you have windows 7 too. So I'd get Windows 7 now and an upgrade disk if you ever want to use it.

I wouldn't buy a laptop with a bigger screen than 13" to be honest. If you want a bigger screen, then I suggest getting an external monitor and going BIG (like 27").

I got myself dual 27''ers. **** is awesome.

Windows 8 is much lighter/faster. I haven't used it but have heard many good things from people I trust.

I like my laptops small to, rather have good mobility. But if you need power in you're laptop 15 inch is nearly the only way to go, there are very few powerful notebooks out there below 15".

Agreed. Once you below a certain size it's tough to cram power into the machine. But that doesn't mean they aren't quality machines. If you aren't coding in Java you probably would be fine.

Yeahhh I went with 1920x1080 Resolution. Those higher rez monitors are around 700 or hell even more....I payed 350 for one, and 250 for the other(got it online last Monday).

So it looks like I'm going to go with the $400 acer. Unless someone knows of any better place to get a better deal.

Also no one said anything about the refurbished ones so I assume I should stay away from those.

I went ahead and got the acer. I tried to get them to switch it up with windows 7 64 bit but they said they cant do that because windows 8 is pre loaded on there. o well i gess

idk what people are talking about. 15.6 inch screens are pretty standard. thats what I have and I couldn't imagine getting a smaller screen.
